What does an AI build in Minecraft? Five real builds, with the request, the size and the time
Here are five real builds made with CRAFT AI, the Minecraft mod: a castle of 34,738 blocks in a little over 15 minutes, a pagoda, a villa, a Nether portal and an End portal. Each one shows the request, the size and the time when it was measured, and what the numbers do not say.
Last updated Applies to CRAFT AI 0.13.3, Minecraft: Java Edition 26.3
What does a castle look like?

The request was one short sentence, in French: “Construis un château”. In English that is “Build a castle”.
The mod’s end message gave 34,738 blocks, after 933 seconds, a little over 15 minutes.
In that run, the AI’s closing message says that it had checked the castle only with cross-sections of one tower and of the middle of the hall, and had made no visual check of the whole.
What does a pagoda on a hill look like?

The request, in French: “Construis une pagode japonaise sur une colline”, in English “Build a Japanese pagoda on a hill”. The run took 612 seconds, about ten minutes, and the mod’s end message gave 20,459 blocks.
What does a modern villa with a pool look like?

The request, in French: “Construis une villa moderne avec une piscine”, in English “Build a modern villa with a pool”. The run took 460 seconds and the mod’s end message gave 5,100 blocks.
The same sentence was run twice. The first run gave 5,817 blocks in 505 seconds; the second, shown here, gave 5,100 blocks in 460 seconds. A request draws its own creative direction, so the same sentence does not give the same build.
What do the two portals look like?

The two portals were built in a normal world, in a few requests: “Build me a super detailed Nether portal”, then “Next to the Nether portal, do the same for the End”. We did not record their block counts or their times.
What do these numbers say, and what do they not say?
| Build | Request | Blocks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Castle | “Construis un château” (in French) | 34,738 | 933 seconds |
| The two portals | See above | Not recorded | Not recorded |
- Blocks. The number in the mod’s end message for that run.
- Time. The whole run, so it includes the AI’s thinking: placing 100,000 blocks takes about 0.3 seconds, and the rest is planning.
- Version. The castle, the pagoda and the villa were built in a flat world with an earlier version of the mod.
- Choice. These are builds we chose to show. They are not an average, and we have not measured how often a request turns out like this.
- The same sentence. Each request draws its own creative direction, so your castle will not be this castle.
How do I get a build like these?
Write what you want in one sentence, as the page on requests explains, then install the mod with the guide.
You need Minecraft: Java Edition 26.3, a mod loader, Java 25 and your own Claude subscription, as the page on building with an AI lists.
Frequently asked questions
Are these pictures of real builds?
Yes. They are pictures of builds made in the game with the mod.
How long does a build take?
From about a minute for a hut to many minutes for a castle. Most of the time is the AI’s thinking, not the game’s.
How big can a build be?
A build is limited to 100,000 blocks.
Does it work in a normal world, not only a flat one?
Yes: the two portals were built in a normal world.
